Have a daughter? Get excited!

Whew! I just returned late last night from a whirlwind two day trip to Nashville where I met with my Publisher regarding the 5 Conversations Bible study/DVD. For those of you who are new to my blog and don't know what I'm talking about, I have a book coming out in September called “5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter” and a Bible study/DVD under the same title that will release the following spring (2009). Since I just returned from a planning meeting regarding the Bible study piece, I thought I would give you a sneak peek of what you might expect in the study. Picture this:
*A Bible study where mothers of daughters (from cradle to college) meet together to tackle the unique challenge of raising girls in today’s culture.
*A Bible study where mothers of older girls can be a support and source of wisdom to mothers of younger girls. (Titus 2 in action!)
*A safe place for moms to be honest about specific challenges they are facing in raising their daughters—and no judgment allowed!
*A Bible study where moms are challenged to take a deeper look at unhealed issues of their past (or present) that may hinder them from discussing certain critical issues with their daughters.
*A safe place for moms to admit that more often than not, we feel like we are winging this whole parenting thing and just hanging on by our fingernails. (Myself included!)
*A Bible study where moms will laugh together, cry together, and celebrate the joys of motherhood.
*A Bible study that will leave you challenged yet filled with hope for the future.
Above is a sneak peek of the book that will release in September. Thank you to all my readers who voted on this fabulous cover! As I write the curriculum piece for the study and begin planning the DVD portions, I will be leaning on you in the days to come to lend your insight. In the meantime, I feel led to develop a prayer team for the development of this study. If you feel led to be a prayer partner, would you indicate that in a comment or contact my Assistant, Shawna at shawna@virtuousreality.com? She will email specific requests (monthly) as they arise in the planning of this important study. If you have a daughter and there is something you would like to see this study accomplish, please comment with your suggestions!

I am fired up! Let me pray about and consider my involvement in your prayer team for this project. -Donna (TX)
I can't wait! As the mother of two daughters 6 & 12 I feel like the minority at times as to what I will allow my daughters to do and see.

That book is going to be on my Christmas list this year. I received Raising a Godly Daughter in an ungodly World last year for Christmas, and my two year old daughter and I read much of it together. I hope she's that enthusiastic about it when she becomes a teenager!
I truly cannot wait to read your new book and to have your DVD and lesson plans. After they come out, I may talk to the elders about having a mom of girl's Sunday morning Bible class for a quarter.
As a mother of five girls, and a family minister, and someone with a HUNGER for Titus 2 relationships (on both ends) I am SOOOOOO excited about this book and study!! Please do sign me on for your prayer team, I could not be more honored than to support you in the spirit during this process!
This is so exciting to see it getting closer and closer! You know I want to support you however I can. On the prayer team or wherever!
I am very excited about this book & bible study. I don't have a daughter but do a mother/daughter program with our church and this would be a great thing for us to incorporate! I will keep praying!!
I can hardly wait!!!!
This is going to be such a great blessing to so many mothers!!!
I'm very excited about this book! I will be on the prayer team!
I would love to be on your prayer team for this project. I've read your two books about raising a godly daughter and godly son (we have two boys and one girl). I also taught the accompanying Bible study based on the girl's book during Sunday school to our 7th-8th grade girls. Loved it so much we did it the following year again when we got new girls who promoted up. Then a friend used it in the older girls' class as well. It is just so applicable. I constantly passionately promote it for you (really, for the girls). And this study sounds like another fantastic one with great insight. I can't wait to get my hands on it, but I'd be blessed to pray for specifics for you in the meantime. I just found your blog a few weeks ago. Huge fan... unabashed, too.
:-)
HI Vicki, (sorry if this is a duplicate post - had trouble the 1st time).
Would this be a Bible study that moms and their older teen daughters could do together?

I don't have any daughters but I am a daughter that wishes her mother had something like this when growing up. Count me in as a prayer partner. I can't wait to introduce this study to our new church.

Please do 5 conversations for boys!! Just the other day a friend and I were talking about this. We need more info on raising boys! Like you need anything else on your plate...
I am so excited about the Bible study! Just yesterday morning at my small group, we were praying that God would shed light on such a study for our small group. I was hoping for next semester, but I'll gladly wait until 2009 because I know it is going to be an amazing study! Please add me to your prayer list. I hope you don't mind. but I got a head start on the prayers. :)
